THE SCIENCE
The ingredients in Sugarless have been thoroughly researched for safety and have been the subject of over 100 independent, double-blind clinical trials.
HOW SUGARLESS WORKS
The four ingredients in Sugarless are clinically-proven to reduce cravings by stabilizing blood sugar levels, increasing production of GLP-1 in the gut, and lowering stress levels to help you avoid emotional eating - putting you back in control.

INGREDIENTS
BERBERINE, 250mg
What is it?
Berberine is a plant alkaloid found in the barks, leaves, root and/or stems of plants including barberry, Oregon grape and tree turmeric.
How it works:
Research shows that berberine increases the levels of glucagon-like-peptide-1, or GLP1, in the body - the same hormone targeted by popular weight loss drugs. Berberine-induces SCFA production, SCFA causes GLP-1 secretion from the intestinal L-Cell.
Berberine also influences key regulators of energy balance, such as adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK), protein kinase C (PKC), and sirtuin 1 (SIRT 1). These enzymes play crucial roles in governing various metabolic, immune, and inflammatory pathways. Activating AMPK increases cellular uptake of glucose and insulin sensitivity, and increases fat burning.
Clinical Studies
Overall Effects:
A 2022 meta-analysis of 49 randomized clinical trials found berberine effective at reducing insulin levels, fasting blood glucose levels, A1C levels, and BMI. Source
A 2020 analysis of 12 berberine studies showed a decrease in body weight by an average of -4.5 lbs, waist circumference by -1.08cm, and BMI by -0.47. Source
Fasting Blood Glucose:
A meta-analysis of 35 studies found berberine significantly reduced fasting blood glucose vs a placebo with a mean difference of -4.73mg/dl for doses <1g/day taken for at least 8 weeks. Source
Insulin Levels:
A meta-analysis of 16 studies found berberine significantly reduced insulin levels compared to a placebo, with a decrease of -2.54 mg/dl. Source
Weight:
A meta-analysis of 21 studies showed berberine supplementation assisted with healthy weight management when taken for at least 8 weeks. Source
CHROMIUM, 500mcg
What is it?
Chromium is a trace mineral found naturally in many foods. It helps regulate blood sugar levels by improving insulin function and aids in metabolizing carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids.
How it works:
Chromium’s main mechanism is tied to chromodulin, a protein that enhances insulin receptor signaling. Impairment of chromodulin significantly reduces insulin efficiency.
Clinical Studies
Appetite Control:
A 2005 study with 113 participants found a significant reduction in appetite and carbohydrate cravings for those who took 600mcg daily of chromium for 8 weeks vs the placebo group. Source
A 2008 study with 42 participants showed that 1000mcg/day of chromium reduced food intake, hunger levels, and body weight. The average daily calorie reduction was 374 calories. Source
Fasting Glucose and A1C:
A 2020 meta-analysis found that chromium supplementation significantly reduced fasting blood glucose, insulin, and A1C levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Source
Weight Loss:
A 2003 meta-analysis of 10 trials with 489 participants showed chromium supplementation supported weight loss, with an average difference of 2.4lb between the chromium and control groups. Source
Blood Sugar Levels:
A review of studies found that 200mcg/day of chromium helps balance blood sugar levels in people without diabetes.
L-THEANINE, 125mg
What is it?
L-Theanine is an amino acid found in tea leaves, particularly green tea. It promotes relaxation and reduces stress, which can help mitigate emotional eating.
How it works:
L-Theanine has been found to increase activity in the alpha frequency band, which relaxes the mind without inducing drowsiness. It is thought that it helps reduce anxiety by increasing the levels of serotonin, dopamine and GABA in the brain - all of which are associated with stress and anxiety levels.
Clinical Studies
Reducing Stress Levels:
A randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study found that 200mg of L-theanine for four weeks significantly improved stress and sleep quality measures. Source
Relaxation:
A study of 35 young adults found that 50mg of L-Theanine increased alpha brain waves, indicating relaxation. Source
CoQ10, 100mg
What is it?
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a molecule produced in the human body and found in foods like meat, fish, and nuts. Production levels within the body vary with age and other factors.
How it works:
CoQ10 acts as an endogenous antioxidant, protecting cells from damage and aiding in metabolism. It improves glycemic control through antioxidant activity.
Clinical Studies
Overall Antioxidant Levels:
A 2022 meta-analysis found CoQ10 significantly increased total antioxidant capacity scores and decreased levels of malondialdehyde (an oxidative stress marker). Source
Fasting Glucose and A1C:
A 2022 meta-analysis of 40 studies with 2424 participants found CoQ10 significantly reduced fasting glucose, fasting insulin, and A1C, indicating beneficial effects on glycemic control. Source
